Wit of transparant decal papier? Gebruik transperant decal papier voor de meeste toepassingen maar houd er rekening mee dat donkere ondergronden bij lichter geprinte kleuren iets kunnen doorschijnen. Dit omdat de decal flinterdun is. Gebruik dan wit Als je een muur met een hele lichte kleur verft, bijvoorbeeld geel of crème wit, dan moet je daar ook geen grijze grondverf onderdoen, maar wit. Dat is hetzelfde wat je met decals moet doen. Een zwarte of donkerblauwe ondergrond is simpelweg te donker voor lichte kleuren op transparant decal papier. Als je daar een dikke witte, of gele, vinylsticker overheen plakt, dan gaat dat wel. Maar de decals zijn vele malen dunner. Dat wil je ook, anders krijg je een rand en zie je heel duidelijk dat er een dikke sticker opzit. Dát, wilde je nu net voorkomen. Daarom kies je voor een 'water-slide' decal. Omdat het zo echt lijkt. Het houdt wel in dat je dus moet opletten op de ondergrond. M.a.w. gebruik wit decal papier als u een lichte afbeelding op een donkere achtergrond wilt plaatsen. De witte basislaag blokkeert het doorschijnen van de donkere kleur van je model. - Als ik een witte basis decal neem, krijg ik gauw een witte rand rondom die ik niet hebben wil! Hoe los ik dat op? Witte basis decal Stel dat de ondergrond van je model zwart is. Hiernaast is een dunne zwarte rand rondom de decal meegedrukt. Er is uitgegaan van wit decal papier(zie buitenste witte rand) voor goede dekking van het geel. De zwarte rand is aangebracht zodat je bij het uitsnijden en plakken, niet meteen wordt gestraft als je een tiende millimeter in het wit naast de decal zou komen(je komt dan eerst in de de zwarte rand te snijden). De zwarte rand valt tegen een zwarte ondergrond van je model nagenoeg weg. Met "Micro Set setting solution" hecht de decal nog beter op je ondergrond en kun je het 'Silvering effect' voorkomen(zilverige glans door minuscule luchtbellen onder je decal). Daarnaast kan het voorkomen dat, ook al heb je een zwarte rand gebruikt, er toch wit zichtbaar is aan de rand. Dat komt dan meestal omdat je met een mesje de decal uitsnijd. Mesjes hebben een snijkant en die is normaliter schuin geslepen, om zo een scherpe rand te verkrijgen om te snijden. Echter zorgt deze schuine rand ervoor dat je de decal rand ook schuin afsnijdt. Zeg maar, een schuin aflopende passe partot-rand. Bij een fotolijstje leuk, maar niet bij witte basis decals. Want het geeft inkijk in de witte basiskleur van de decal. TIP: snijd met je mesje schuin tegen de lineaal aan, zodat de snijrand van de decal iets terug naar binnen loopt en niet recht naar beneden of naar buiten. Als je de decal dan gebruikt en met Setting Sol bewerkt, dan zou de rand niet meer zichtbaar moeten zijn. Witte tekst/cijfers Je kunt witte letters maken door op het witte papier de omgeving rond de letters in de kleur van het model te printen en de letters dus wit te laten. Maak met een tekenprogramma een decal in het wit. Zorg ervoor dat de achtergrond van het plaatje dezelfde kleur heeft als je model. Gebruik een witte decalsheet om op te printen. Snijd zo kort mogelijk om het witte deel heen, maar laat een klein randje van de achtergrond kleur zitten. Plak de decal en de achtergrond kleur zal vrijwel onzichtbaar ogen, doordat het dezelfde kleur heeft als de verf van je model. Verwijderen van decals Decals can be removed from a model provided the model has not been over sprayed with a finishing coat. That is, a gloss, satin or flat finishing product. If the model has a finish coating applied, then it might become necessary to completely strip the painted model and start over. If the decals have no finish coat applied, first start by applying adhesive back masking tape over the decal. The tackier tape used, the better luck you will have with the removal. After rubbing the tape in place, lift and slowly pull at a shallow angle back over its self. With luck, most of the decal lettering should lift off. Any remaining decal material can then be soaked off with water. Another method is to use the product, Micro-Sol (red label) to the remaining decal. Let the solution soak a few minutes and then use a pink rubber pencil eraser and rub over the decal working carefully as not to remove the painted surface. A fingernail will also work. Be sure to rinse off the area with fresh water as letting the Micro-Sol set too long can cause the paint to lift. Repeat as necessary. Basic Instructions for the Application of Modelraketten.NL Waterslide Decals 1. The object to be decaled must have a clean and relatively smooth glossy surface. 2. Cut out the Decal lettering and dip in clean water (preferably Distilled water) anywhere from 10 to 20 seconds. Note: Some lettering might take a longer soaking time than other sheets. Set the Decal on a damp paper towel for a short period of time or until the Decal slides freely on the backing paper. 3. Place Decal where desired on object. It might be of help if a layer of Micro-Set is brushed on the object first and then place the Decal. This process will allow the Decal to avoid the Silvering effect that can happen with just the water. Work as fast as you can in placing the lettering as the Micro-Set starts the wrinkling of the Decal and setting it to the object. 4. Blot gently around the edges of the Decal with a paper towel or tissue to remove excess water and allow to dry completely. Add more Micro-Set as necessary over the top of the Decal very carefully. This process will make the Decal lettering a part of the model. 5. When placing a Decal on slightly irregular surfaces, use Micro-Sol. This is the stronger of the two products and aids in soften the Decal to fill the contour, rivets and crevices on the object. The setting solution also improves adhesion by eliminating the tiny bubbles that can be trapped under the Decal film. 6. When the Decals are completely dry, it is necessary to wash off the Decal glue and water spots from the object with a damp paper towel or you may brush the water on and then dab it dry. Do not wipe the Decal lettering. Drying time may vary, but allow several hours or overnight to before proceeding. 7. It is recommended that a clear protective coating be applied to the entire surface of the object. The over spraying of the Decals will protect them from handling and seal the painted surface
	Description: Micro Set setting solution "Micro Set setting solution" is a very versatile decal setting solution that does several things to the Microscale Decals to improve application. Micro Set should be applied to the surface of the model where you will be sliding off the decal. Micro Set prepares the surface with special wetting agents that cuts the oils in new paint and converts the adhesive on the back of the decal to a stronger and more lasting one. And finally, Micro Set slightly softens the decals film to make it more flexible so that it can conform better to the model's surface. Better adhesion by the decal to the model prevents tiny air bells from occurring and results in an invisible carrier film or the so called 'painted on look'. "

You can get the most amazing results in seemingly impossible places, because Micro Sol actually makes the decal part of the paint. For that reason you should coat Micro Sol on for only a few seconds and then leave it alone, it does the work. Do not touch until dry as the decal is very soft at this stage and could be easily damaged. "
